Social Media Fresh Start

What to post on social media – January 2019 Edition

Happy New Year and welcome to the first social media ideas list of the year!

Social Media Fresh Start

We start a new year with a fresh clean slate, start as we mean to go on, and your social media shouldn’t be an exception. This is why you absolutely need to get into good habits from day one.

What do we mean by good social media habits?

We mean, follow a simple process that makes forming these new habits easy. It only takes 3 weeks to form a new habit so by the end of January, by following these simple guidelines, your social media marketing can be running smoothly and effectively and starting to generate customers for your business.

There are 3 steps to forming good social media habits:

  1. Connect
  2. Converse
  3. Create

Social Media Habit 1: Connect

Knowing your target customer is key to this stage of habit forming. Investing initially in customer research to really nail who it is that you are selling to is vital for a successful social media strategy. When you know who they are, it’s indescribably easier to find them!

Social Media Habit 2: Converse

Social media is a channel for communication and by that, we don’t mean broadcasting. It’s not about posting for the sake of posting. Engagement is the key measure of a successful marketing campaign but why would anyone engage with you if they get nothing back?

Social media Habit 3: Create

Now the conversation is flowing with the right customers, you can create content that they will love and want to consume.

Makes sense?

Over the next few weeks we will go into more detail about each of these habits but for now, because we know how tricky it is to think of what to post some days, here is a list of social media prompts for each day of January. Some may be weird! Some may be thought-provoking and some may be completely on point for your brand and your customer. So have a delve and start making plans to include them in your social media marketing this month.
